Initially mentioned in the Domesday Book, Barnham is known for its rolling cereal fields and now closed-down cattle market. This semi-rural village and civil parish can be found around five miles north of Bognor Regis.

Barnham has particularly excellent rail links, with a mainline station in the village it provides a direct service to London (Victoria) in 1 hour 40 minutes and Gatwick Airport is approximately 50 minutes.

Barnham features a local primary school in the village along with many other local amenities which are all within close proximity. The village provides a broad selection of shops and restaurants including a supermarket, butchers and a post office.

There is a conservation area which includes St Mary's Church, considered the heart of 'Old Barnham', and there has been a church on the site since Saxon times. Part of the conservation area is the now disused Napoleonic canal, built in the early 19th Century for transporting goods from the naval dockyards in Portsmouth to London which was an inland alternative to the vulnerable sea route.
