Deposit Protection

At Tod Anstee, we prioritise the protection of your deposit, ensuring peace of mind for both landlords and tenants.

Deposit Protection

Tenancy deposits are held to protect the landlord should tenants breach their agreement and cause damage or incur rental arrears at the property which is not rectified by the end of the tenancy term.

Keeping your money safe

We use both the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) and the Deposit Protection Scheme (DPS). One of these schemes will hold your deposit and safeguard it for the duration of your tenancy.

Getting your money back

At the end of your tenancy, once we have completed the check out process and report, should no deductions be claimed, we will return your deposit to you as soon as possible. In the unusual event that there is damage caused or rent arrears, the landlord will claim for deductions from your deposit. We will communicate these with you and liaise between yourself and the landlord to reach agreement. Sometimes, when agreement cannot be reached, we refer disputes to either the TDS or DPS scheme where they appoint an independent adjudicator to resolve the claim.
